John Briggs might have speculated that Nicole Coonradt has allowed
memories of Charles I's unsuccessful (and extensively romanticized)
courtship of the Infanta, Maria Anna, to occlude the fact that he ended
up marrying the Princess Henrietta Maria of France, not Spain, instead.
