Subject: SHAKSPER Resumes
I am sorry for the long hiatus, but last night I graded the last of this
semester's papers and turned in my grades, I plan to go on leave for the
spring semester and then most likely do whatever preparations necessary
for me to retire. As usual, my timing is impeccable: "O that way madness
lies, let me shun that: / No more of that."
I now am able to return to undertaking the work of SHAKSPER and spending
the majority of my remaining time on the other scholarly pursuits that I
have put on hold by the demands of my former quotidian existence.
I have many plans and a few announcements to make about SHAKSPER, but
those will need to be delayed until I catch up all that has collected in
my Editor's Inbox.
Much has happened over the past nearly four weeks since my last missive
- SHK 19.0669: "Lots o[f] Things on My Mind." I will begin with
announcements, then turn to items of interest from the news, followed by
new queries, observations, and other submissions by members before I
pick up on responses to threads that were underway before my break.
Should any of you wish to refresh your minds, regarding the nature of
any ongoing threads before the hiatus, you can go to the list's online
archives, Volume 19 sorted by date --
http://www.shaksper.net/archives/2008/date.html -- and do so.
As a teaser for what's to come, I am just about to initiate my long
desired "Books Review" feature with two reviews from members of the
SHAKSPER Book Review Panel, Arthur Lindley and Murray Schwartz.
