Subject: The Shakespeare Post

I would like to acquaint the members of the SHAKSPER electronic conference with
a new website, *The Shakespeare Post* (www.shakespearepost.com). *The
Shakespeare Post* is a daily web publication that brings its readers the latest
news on the performance and study of the works of William Shakespeare and his
contemporaries. The *Post* combines original reporting with the most relevant
news from the Internet to cover topics including theatre, scholarship,
education, books, historical research, exhibitions and movies. The goal is to
be the most complete, accessible and up-to-date source of Shakespeare news
available on the web.

*The Shakespeare Post* focuses on news from the United Kingdom, the United
States, Canada and Australia but regularly includes stories from all parts of
the globe. The *Post* has a rapidly growing readership in more than forty
countries on six continents. The site is designed for anyone with an interest in
Shakespeare from scholars and theatre professionals to enthusiasts and casual
readers.

*The Shakespeare Post* is edited by John D. Lawrence. John is an Internet
producer for Fox News Chicago. Before coming to Fox, he was a news producer for
KRQE News 13, the CBS affiliate in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He began his career
in broadcast/online media at KNME-TV, New Mexico's largest public television
station, where he served as the public affairs producer.

As the *Post* evolves, new features will be added and more voices from the
theatrical, scholarly and educational communities will be introduced. I
encourage all of you to visit the *Post* and send in your comments and ideas
along with any announcements, events or other Shakespeare related news you wish
to publicize.

Sincerely,
John D. Lawrence
Editor
