Subject: Barbara Hodgdon's _The Taming of the Shrew_ and Keir Elam's _Twelfth
Night_
I have to disagree with John Briggs's comments on Keir Elam's edition of Twelfth
Night for Arden 3. I have found Elam's textual notes extremely detailed and
useful; whereas his brilliant Introduction, almost a monograph, is replete with
suggestive and fascinating observations on the subtle ambiguity of the play's
language.
