I can only agree. Having read the official Cultural Olympiad briefing pack, I
would advise anyone who cares about Shakespeare to contact Ian as a matter of
urgency with ideas that are better - or at least more comprehensible - than the
current front-runner:
"Shakespeare Now - A youth focused international festival of Shakespeare linking
London and the regions including an exciting mix of performance, design and
fashion."
Just one word of warning: all proposals "will have to fully display the first
three [Cultural Olympiad] core values and adopt at least three of the themes."
So before you all rush to put pen to paper, you might want to visit
http://www.london2012.com/get-involved/cultural- olympiad/values-and-vision.php
and find out what these are.
If you would like to see the full pdf, which I can no longer find on the site
itself, just drop me an email offline.
