While this performance sounds interesting, I'm afraid to say this might not be
the first known performance of a Shakespearean play by multiple "teams" of cast.

The SL Shakespeare Company has already performed a full length full costumed
staged reading performance of Twelfth Night with multiple teams of actors -- a
motley mix of both professionals and others, some pulled in straight from the
audience. The live performance was available every Friday nights, Saturday
mornings, and Sunday afternoon to anyone anywhere with an internet connection
between 6/20 and 7/20, "performed by a moving cast, and audience members from
the last week who wish to enlist would have the possible chance to make the
cast." http://vshakespeare.ning.com/events/event/show?id=2058941:Event:1144

Due to funding reasons, we were limited to a full costume staged reading -- and
of course, since we are a troupe performing in the open-ended virtual world of
Second Life -- we also had some interesting technical complications. Examples
include actors not being able to log on at the right time or crashing at the
wrong time -- this resulted in not only last-minute re-casting but also
last-minute "free for all's" as the next available actor takes on a "MIA" role.
All in sum, it was fun for both the team and audience. Just a note of a similar
endeavor -- it's always wonderful to see other companies exploring the new
possibilities in Shakespearean performances.

(cc'ed: hopefully all relevant parties - please forward.)
