Subject: King John, Henry VI 1-3, Antony & Cleopatra and more
The 2008-09 Season of the Atlanta Shakespeare Company will include ten
Shakespeare plays, including a chance to view the rarely performed works King
John Henry VI (all three parts, including all three performed in a single
weekend), Antony & Cleopatra, and others.
Here's the season.
August and September -- a repertory of The Compete Works of William Shakespeare
(abridged), Much Ado About Nothing, Twelfth Night, and King John
October -- Antony and Cleopatra
November -- Henry VI, Parts 1, 2, and 3
December -- A Christmas Carol
January 2009 -- Christopher Marlowe's Doctor Faustus
February -- Romeo and Juliet
March -- The Canterbury Tales
April -- Hamlet
May -- The Tempest
June -- Stephen Sondheim's A Little Night Music (rights pending)
The Atlanta Shakespeare Company performs at the New American Shakespeare Tavern,
located at 299 Peachtree Street in Atlanta, and can be contacted at
_www.shakespearetavern.com_ (http://www.shakespearetavern.com).
The Atlanta Shakespeare Company produces professional productions of plays in
the manner (as far as we can know) that the author intended. That is, there is
no time travel (the Henry plays will not take place in Baghdad, Kosovo, or any
place other than where they are set), and the Shakespeare texts are generally
taken from the First Folio (when available, of course).
The remainder of the 2007-08 season includes Much Ado About Nothing (June 6-
July 6, 2008), and A Midsummer Night's Dream (July 10 - August 13, 2008).
Performance dates, ticket prices, information about the Company, and other items
are available on the website.
