Subject: Interview with Michael Wood and More
The latest issue of the Shakespeare Bookshop Newsletter (December 2009)
has Will Sharpe interviewing Michael Wood and several interesting book
reviews.
To find a copy go to
http://www.shakespeare.org.uk/files/bookshopnews12.pdf .
One of the books reviewed is Ben Crystal's Shakespeare on Toast: Getting
a Taste for the Bard, a book I found to be quite enjoyable. Primarily
written for a non-specialist readers to empower (Sorry, a hate this verb
but cannot think of a better one) them to be unafraid of Shakespeare on
the stage or on the page, Shakespeare on Toast is, nevertheless, well
worth reading by scholars and teachers. After I read it last semester, I
incorporated some of what I read into my classroom instruction.
