I'm happy to hear about your use of the Ps. 46 business, Jennifer. I
have your book on my shelf to read, but this gives me a further
incentive. Aaron, I actually have a substantial article on Lear and Job
that will appear in the collection on Shakespeare and Religion edited by
Arthur Marotti and Ken Jackson forthcoming (not sure when) from Notre
Dame Press. The relationship between the two works has been argued for
some time, at least back to Wilson Knight. Steven Marx has a chapter on
Lear and Job in Shakespeare and the Bible, but it's not terribly useful.
Better is a fine article by Rosalie Colie in the collection on Lear she
edited. I think there's also a good treatment in Stephen Booth's King
Lear, Macbeth, Indefinition, and Tragedy,
