I'm not sure outrage is appropriate. I wonder how some responded to Shakespeare's
version of old Holished stories. Did they consider his renditions appropriate? Maybe
the scholars in his time were outraged by his work.

Disney has quite an effect on this and past generations. Disney has a worldwide
effect just as Shakespeare did. Disney has done some very innovative things, just as
Shakespeare did.

maybe we are too close to Disney in time sequence while we have some distance and
some history with Shakespeare. I do know both had quite the power with people and
that is important, whether we like it or not.

Reserving judgment,
ted

Outrage? I think Shakespeare would have loved it.

I think the only appropriate responses are the internet memes <facepalm> and

Why feel outrage? The trailer is great, the list of voices astonishing and the
animation superb.

What's the problem?

Voices include Michael Caine, Maggie Smith, Julie Walters, Dolly Parton, Hulk Hogan
and, as Shakespeare, Patrick Stewart.

I can't wait till it's released in February 2011.

Considering that Shakespeare, himself, wrote "A Midsummer Night's Dream," why be
outraged? Let us save that for real sins, such as employing the name "Romeo"
tropically where either "Adonis" or "Lothario" would be appropriate. Must my wife
burn her "Green Eggs and Hamlet" tee-shirt lest she herself be burnt as a witch?
Faugh!

Well, the music is good.
