This essay primarily analyzes the literary influences from Ovid's _Metamorphoses_ as they appear in Tarantino's recent film _Inglourious Basterds_. In addition, the essay addresses four plays by Shakespeare: _Merchant of Venice_, _A Midsummer Night's Dream_, _Hamlet_, and _Othello_.
