I too am deeply saddened to learn of Bernice Kliman's passing.  I came to know her at the monthly meetings of the Columbia Shakespeare Seminar, which she attended religiously, and shared some time with her and Merwin at various SAA conferences.  She invariably brightened any assembly.  She will be greatly missed.

My condolences to Merwin and to Bernice's many, many friends and admirers.

Let me be the first to correct myself before I suffer the embarrassment of being corrected by another. In my tribute to Bernice Kliman, I misread the cover of the New Kittredge Shakespeare edition of Romeo and Juliet, writing that the book is co-edited by Bernice and James H. Lake. Lake is the Series Editor. This volume was co-edited by Bernice and Dr. Laury Magnus.

Please accept my apology for this error.

all the best,

Mike Jensen
