Subject: 2006 WV Shakespeare Conference: Second CFP
The 33rd Annual West Virginia Shakespeare and Renaissance Association
Conference
SECOND CALL FOR PAPERS
The 33rd annual WEVSARA Conference will be held on 6-8 April 2006 at
Marshall University in Huntington, WV. The Conference Steering
Committee invites papers on Shakespeare and other Renaissance authors,
including - but not limited to - Milton and Spenser. Interdisciplinary
approaches to Renaissance literature, as well as traditional and
postmodern readings, are welcome. Although the conference has no single
focus or theme, the steering committee is particularly interested in
receiving submissions on Shakespeare's tragedies and Non-Shakespearean
drama.
Papers read at the 2006 conference are eligible for consideration for
publication in the 2007 issue of SRASP (Shakespeare and Renaissance
Association: Selected Papers), a juried, refereed journal with a
distinguished Editorial Board.
The plenary address for the 2006 conference will be given by John Rooks,
Associate Professor of English at Morris College: "The Winter's Tale and
the Political Allure of Sheer Inertia"
Panel Proposals (three-paper groupings), papers (20-minutes reading
time: 8-10 pages, double spaced), and abstracts (100-150 words) are all
invited for consideration and should be sent to
