Digital Shakespeare on Stage
Help us create an enduring digital monument to Shakespeare and the artists who keep his works alive today. Spread the word about your own work around the world.
-- An Invitation --
Would you like to enjoy some free publicity on a website visited by hundreds of thousands each month? Join the ISE to enter information about your upcoming shows directly into our database.
- Once in our database, your productions will appear on our Shakespeare Calendar, a section of the site where visitors search for productions near and far.
- As the opening date approaches, your production will be featured in the “Shakespeare on Stage” column on every page of our desktop site.
- Your production will appear in a pull-down menu on the ISE Chronicle. Your patrons will be able to select your production and enter their reviews.
The performance database is a persuasive advertisement for all participants: directors, actors, and designers. Each entry includes a link to your URL, directing Internet traffic from around the world to your company. The ISE site mobilizes information in the richly hyperlinked database throughout the site, where students, scholars, and other theater practitioners will see it.
How to join our network of participating theaters:
Our staff will set up a free account giving you access to the database, where you can enter details about your productions—and upload publicity graphics.
And there’s a bonus . . .
Starting in April 2013, participating theaters will be able to log in to the main site of the ISE to see an icon that prepares a print-ready view of each page. Directors wanting a reliable text of the Folio, or one of the early Quartos, will be able to select a view that shows a complete play; then print it or copy it from the browser into a word processor for further work. Many of the plays are also available in modern spelling versions.
