Subject: Scholarly Research on the Net

 (Please excuse any cross posting)

My name is Robert Berkman, and I am currently writing a book to be
published late next year by NYU Press on the topic of how to perform
scholarly research on the Net. One of the chapters will discuss the use
of Internet newsgroups and listservs as a way to perform research,
obtain comments on work in progress from colleagues, and advance the
scholarly pursuit of knowledge.

As part of this project, I would very much like to correspond with
anyone on this list who would like to share some of his or her
experiences-for better or worse-in doing scholarly research on this
list. I have some specific questions I would like to ask, but would be
interested in any anecdotes you may wish to pass along.
