The Haberdashers and Private Launderers Guild Annual Outing this year is
to be a special performance of OTHELLO. Free handkerchiefs with our logo
inscribed will be enclosed in the souvenir programme. It is thought that
the resultant publicity may help in our campaign to stamp out paper
tissues.

This year`s whole school outing will be to the Forest of Arden. Coaches
will leave at 2. The annual nine-men`s morris against Blasted Heath
Juniors will be played at 3. (If filled up with mud, in hall.) Illyria
House will perform their prize-winning version of The Tragic History and
Most Lamentable Comedy of Pyramus and Thisbe in the clearing at 3.30 and
we are very grateful to Mr Snug and the GCSE DT set for their help with
building the props. including a most convincing wall. If your child is
in the nursery please ensure he/she brings a small fishing net, CLEARLY
NAMED, for the usual chasing after gilded butterflies, which is always
such fun ! After tea, jugglers, clowns, fairies, and bergamasque
dancers drawn from the upper school will entertain. It is hoped that our
magician Mr Prospero will drop in again to entertain the infants and
there will be a Living Statue Demonstration by Miss Hermione. Please
ensure that your child brings a mac and waterproof overtrousers as, in
the usual tradition, we shall be taking parties of 10 out on the lake in
the school boat `The Full Fathom Five.` Again we must stress that your
child MUST be clearly named. As a result of last year`s unfortunate
incident, we are afraid that the DIVING FOR CORAL BONES AND PEARLS
competition will not take place. We will sing the school song TOIL AND
TROUBLE promptly at five, and coaches will return to school by six. (No
pet newts or blind worms may be brought, owing to the new health and
safety regulations.)

Signed.
O. Holofernes.
