Portia is certainly a significant character in JC. Using your own
criteria, she does have a "component"--why would she swallow hot coals
when Brutus commits suicide?
Why would Calpurnia care when she has a dream warning her husband not to
go out on the ides of March if she has no "sexual component?''
I weary of circular arguments and plots.
