Subject: Ghost Dad - French

I've had cause, of late, to ponder the speech of Hamlet's Ghost Father.
And it suddenly struck me this morning, he speaks French. Any idea why?
I don't remember anyone else speaking French. Wouldn't Danish have made
more sense? What is Danish for Goodbye? or is it a poetry thing?

I'm vexed

"Adieu, adieu! Hamlet, remember me."
