Subject: HAMLET at CCNY Dec 6-8

For those in or near New York City, I'm directing a "Hamlet" that will
run from Thursday Dec 6 to Saturday Dec 8 in the 800-seat Marian
Anderson Theatre on the City College Campus. Performances are at noon
and 7pm on the 6th, and at 7 pm on Dec 7 & 8. Admission is free to this
beautiful proscenium house at 134th Street and Convent Avenue (one block
west of Amsterdam Avenue). Free parking is available immediately behind
the theatre; the entrance to the supervised campus lot is at 133rd
Street and Convent.

Hamlet is played by a wonderful young South African, Quincy Fynn, who
has five years professional experience in Durban, South Africa. The
remainder of the cast includes a strong and eclectic mix of City
University of New York wunderkinder hailing originally from parts as
diverse as Switzerland, Ecuador, and even (gasp) New Jersey.

With some ferocious cutting (what one might think of as an un-quarto
version), the performances should run only two hours and forty minutes.
In place of cannon and trumpets, we have interpolated eleven solo and
part-songs. Our fights are breathtaking, and the set gives the actors a
tough, urban adventure-playground for spying, plotting, grieving and
dying on.

I'm happy to answer any questions. Please contact me off-list by e-mail
or by phone at 212 650-6308.
