For those who don't know or don't subscribe to Shakespeare Bulletin, A
Journal of Performance Criticism and Scholarship (now in its 19th year):

The Summer 2001 (19.3) issue is off the press.  Among the contents:

Frances K. Barasch continues her study of links between Italian
theatrical culture and Shakespeare's plays in "Italian Actresses in
Shakespeare's World:  Vittoria and Isabella"--a follow-up to her article
in the Fall 2000 issue of SB (18.4).

Philippa Sheppard challenges the prevailing view of Branagh's work in
"The Castle of Elsinore:  Gothic Aspects of Kenneth Branagh's <Hamlet>."

This issue otherwise features over twenty reviews of regional
productions, with production photos,  from coast to coast.

Included, as usual,  are Books on the Rialto, book reviews,  notes, and
a listing of Events.
