Subject: REMINDER: The SHAKSPER Move (AND Again)
Dear SHAKSPEReans,
Before I repeat my message about the relocation of the SHAKSPER server,
let me address the following questions:
Tony Burton asks,
"Once you make your move -- and good luck with it -- will we still be
using the old addresses to get to sites, links, etc. that we may have
saved for future reference? In my case, a ton of stuff. Or, if they
will they get new addresses, how will we access the oldies-but-goodies?"
and Jack Heller asks,
"A question occurs to me which will occur to other listmembers as well:
To what address should we change our email address lists? Or will that
matter?"
As of late Thursday or early Friday, the addresses

Administrator to forward mail from these addresses, but what he has to
do to make this happen will not necessarily occur immediately or last
for ever.
The new addresses will be This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.,

not work until I have the sever correctly configured and I officially
register these addresses - this is a long story that is more trouble to
explain than to leave unexplained.
So to answer Tony, you will be using the new addresses after we are back
up and running (sometime between a few days and perhaps a week), but
this does not mean that messages sent to the old addresses are in any
way obsolete. All of the past posting will still be available in the
archives and accessible by searching listserv or going to the web site
(but using the new addresses to do so). Any sites other than those
related to the list that you have saved will not change.
To answer Jack, after we are back in service you should use the new
address, but PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE THEM UNTIL YOU RECEIVE YOUR
FIRST MESSAGE FROM ME AFTER THE MOVE when all the details have been
worked out.
And now the announcement:
Because new members are being added daily and because I believe in the
effectiveness of repetition, I have decided to announce every day until
the move that the SHAKSPER server will be moved from Bowie State to my
home on Friday, February 1, 2002.
Because of the change of IP address, there are a number of issues that
members need to be concerned about. It will take some time once the
server is in place to register its new name - www.shaksper.net - and to
have the Bowie State System Administrator make the changes that he has
to make to the old address.
Any messages sent to the old addresses will be lost in cyberspace, so
please beginning on Thursday, January 31, 2002, refrain from replying to
posts or from sending messages either to the list or listserv either at
the old or at the new addresses until you hear from me.
Thank you all for your cooperation during the process and wish us well.
Hardy
