Subject: Hamlet, CEO

Greetings,

I am a Shakespeare hobbyist and have been working my way through the
canon over the years. Professionally, I am a consultant and as part of
an assignment I need to give a CEO an evaluation of his performance. It
struck me that this person has much in common with Hamlet. He is dealing
with the ghost of his father, the founder of the firm. His greatest
weakness is his indecisiveness. He is moody and when slighted, pursues
revenge rather than stopping to think rationally. With that said, he is
quite clever and has a strong reputation with those that know him well.
He is a relentless and tireless worker.

I am thinking of using Hamlet as a metaphor for the evaluation. I was
wondering if I might get some help from members of this list. It would
help me to read your impressions of what kind of CEO Hamlet might make!
Just a bit of a thought experiment. The thoughts from those more
knowledgeable than myself will allow me to check the validity of what I
am doing and might perhaps give me some food for thought.

Thanks!

Eric Cohen
