Subject: Workshop Announcement

Always a highlight of my Sundays, the Poetry Daily weekly newsletter
contained an announcement I thought I'd pass along. Not only does it
deal specifically with teaching Shakespeare, but places this squarely in
a context of teaching poetry. While the newsletter announcement gives no
date, the web site says July 24-27. --Nancy Charlton

Celebrate poetry in California's wine country.

Write and renew your love of language at Teaching Poetry, a conference
for poets and teachers of English. Keynote speaker Michael York, actor
and author of _A Shakespearean Actor Prepares_, opens this conference
with a passion for the performance of poetry. The faculty includes Dana
Gioia, Al Young, Kay Ryan, Kim Addonizio, David Mason, R. S. Gwynn,
Diane Thiel, Chryss Yost, and others. Intimate groups study Performing
Poetry, Poetic Form, and Teaching Shakespeare, in addition to workshops
for your own poems. Closing celebration at the Iron Horse Vineyard.
