If my memory serves me right Jennifer Kendall also played a memsahib in
the BBC serial The Jewel in the Crown. But she is best remembered in
Bombay as one of the leading founders of Prithvi Theatre named after her
father-in-law Prthviraj Kapoor who was a highly regarded veteran of
Indian stage and cinema. Constructed as theatre-in-the-round Prithvi in
the Bombay suburb of Juhu promotes experimental stage productions in
modern Indian languages including English.
