I was pleased to see JK's more extended copy of "The Woad Song" (whose
title sounds like it was being pronounced by Elmer Fudd).

And my pleasure was doubled at reading the lines

> Saxons you may save your stitches
> Building beds for bugs in britches,
> We have Woad to clothe us, which is
> Not a nest for fleas.
> Romans, keep your armor!
> Saxons, your pajamas!
> Hairy coats
> Were made for goats,
> Gorillas, yaks, retriever dogs and llamas!

Rhyming armor with pajama and llama goes into my file of the definitive
pairings right next to "Lady of Spain I adore you, right from the night
I first saw you." But the latter gets extra points from also being
ungrammatical.

Cheers,
don

(PS: Doesn't anyone know "The Man Who Invented Beer"?)

I forgot to note that the woad song appears to be a more limited genre
than the woad movie.

Here's a "Hurrah for good Queen Bess!" from John Bennett's Master
Skylark,

Hurrah for the Queen, and the pie and the ale!
Hurrah for the peacock, hurrah for its tail!
Hurrah for hurrah, and hurrah again --
We're going to court on Christmas day
                         To sing before the Queen!
