I agree with Thomas Larque that this is a matter worth discussing. I
also could not get access to this database through my university last
year and the huge subscription cost was cited as a reason.
Unfortunately, going to the British Library seems to sort of defeat the
object of an online database, as a lot of the documents are probably
held at the BL and could be seen there in paper form anyway.

(Someone very, very generously downloaded a specific text and emailed it
to me at the time when I needed it, but I would not like to suggest that
this is the solution.)
