Although I don't recall specific articles now, such a comparison was
used during the Mike Tyson/Robin Givens public marriage/debacle. It was
an easy line to draw as Ms. Givens seemed very Lady M-like on TV and
Tyson is notoriously dark sided. I thought Ms. Givens was not nearly in
the Lady's league and certainly Tyson has not the depth or complexity
for his part, but that's a referee's judgment call. Regardless, finding
such comparisons in 'real life' is a grand way to illustrate our
favorite author's insight into the human psyche--especially for students
who consider MTV compelling drama.

Brian Willis mentioned an op-ed column comparing Kobe Bryant and
Macbeth. Written by Boston teacher Michael Obel-Omia, "Kobe's
Shakespearean Downfall" ran in the Boston Globe August 8. The Globe's
archives wanted $2.95 for the article but Google managed to get directly
to the article at:
