But that is under the long-run system; in general, even those few modern
US and UK theatres that attempt to perform under some kind of repertory
system (e.g., Paul Barry's NJ Shakespeare Festival [1963-1990, R.I.P.]
or the Ohio Light Opera) are, in reality, only doing interleaved long
runs. Moreover, the 16th century knew nothing of professional reviewers
and combined both small staffs and singular "angels" with very large houses.
