Subject: 15.1506 Question Concerning Measure for Measure
Comment: Re: SHK 15.1506 Question Concerning Measure for Measure

Bill Godshalk asks ...

 >Was there a Medieval religious brotherhood for St. Luke? Was the
 >brotherhood centered in Vienna? And did Shakespeare know about this
 >hypothetical brotherhood?

There is a much simpler explanation....

"For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to
you again". (Luke 6:38)

WS may have named the grange after the saint who gave him the play's title.
