Perhaps not, but perhaps someone more familiar with Dylan than I am can
answer these questions: does he ever improvise? does he interact
unpredictably with his backup? does his backup ever include a saxophone?
does he frequently alter his own songs when performing them? does he
ever do scat?

I tend to associate him more with folk than rock and jazz, and "pop," to
me, signifies music that is usually cheap, sentimental, commercial, easy
listening, harmonically simple, and, in a word, rotten.

Is "absurd" meant to be a compliment?

And, since this is a Shakespeare list, where does the bard, whoever he
was, fit into those categories, that is, their Elizabethan equivalents?

Ah, Mr. Hawkes, but what of the "classic"---"If Dogs Run Free"?

Most Philosophers worth their sort deny the existence of the absurd.

But Terence Hawkes thinks Shakespeare plays jazz.

I say Bach.

But enough of our opinions eh?

Best,
Marcus D.
