He told the British Graduate Conference in June that it would be in
modern dress, set in a Las Vegas casino, with McKellen as Antonio and
Julia Stiles as Portia.
It hardly seems necessary actually to make it, does it? The mind's eye
can see it all so well ... I hope the ghost of John Gielgud may make an
appearance as the ghost of Portia's father ...
