Subject: Shakespeare on YouTube
I don't want to get us too deep into the YouTube thing here on SHAKSPER.
There's so much dross there surrounding the gold, and it's easy for
list-members to search for themselves. But I was pleased when Charles
Weinstein pointed out the wonderful Peter Sellers parody of Olivier as
Richard III, and I hope folks enjoyed the silly Cat's Head Theatre clip
of Hamlet vs Rosecrantz & Guidenstern.
So here are just two more YouTube URLs -- and never again. (Or VERY
rarely...)

I had never seen this. It is a 1929 clip of John Barrymore as Richard
III in a scene from Henry VI Part 3. Quite chilling. I do prefer
Olivier's understatement of that final line to Barrymore's rather hammy
reading-- but still...

Reveals a little-known aspect of Shakespeare's biography-- the Really
Lost Years.
Enjoy,
Bill Lloyd
