Tomorrow, April 15, 2007, at 2:00 pm, I will be moderating a panel
discussion in the Meeting Room at Shirlington Library, Arlington,
Virginia: Some Fading Glimmer Left: The Enduring Influence of
Shakespeare on the Arts.
This presentation is one of the activities conducted by the Arlington
Library as part of the Shakespeare in DC Festival.
A panel of writers, actors, and directors from the area's finest
theatres discuss Shakespeare's continued impact on contemporary art and
society. Moderated by Hardy M. Cook, Professor of English at Bowie State
University, the Panelists include Joe Banno (Director, the Folger
Theatre), Christopher Henley (Artistic Director, Washington Shakespeare
Company), Floyd King (Actor, The Shakespeare Theatre Company), and
Caleen Sinnette Jennings (Playwright, Playing Juliet/Casting Othello and
Elsewhere in Elsinore and Associate Professor of English, American
University).
