Joe had replied privately to me sometime ago so I knew Shylock was not 
represented as a ginger, but I'd not yet seen the images  Thanks for 
these, Joe!  Curiously, it seems the redhead is none other than Portia! 
  She is often seen, by way of flattery, as a character a bit parallel 
Queen Elizabeth.  I guess Linton must have been onto her hair color. 
(Now I'll have to go back to see if there is mention of her hair color 
in the play.)
