Comment: Re: SHK 20.0561 Coriolanus Film
My own preference would be for Gerard Butler to stay in his native
tongue, Glaswegian, for his upcoming role as Tullus Aufidius. He
performed in Coriolanus a few years back [I don't know which role]. He
has a law degree from Glasgow University; no mini-mind, that one.
Butler's oft-quoted as saying he's terrified of sounding non-Scottish to
his countryfolk. Having recently visited [for the first time] Glasgow, I
can understand his preference for Glaswegian.....and somewhat understand
his terror. <g>
Do we know if Ralph Fiennes will be performing in the film as well as
directing? And do we know if much fiddling will be done with the text?
