Subject:     Newly Designed Web Site for SHAKSPER Online

Dear All,

Thank you for your patience during the transition, and I am proud to announce that the newly designed SHAKSPER web site in now online at www.shaksper.net or shaksper.net.

For the next few days, I encourage all members and prospective subscribers to explore it.

On the Home page, you will find a brief description of the list and a new logo.
Under the About tab, you will find a more detailed description of the list with two electronic reprints of essays I have written about it. There are pages for the SHAKSPER Team, the SHAKSPER Advisory Board, and the SBReviews Panel Members. There are pages discussing Netiquette, How to Cite SHAKSPER, and finally an online form for anyone wishing to subscribe to the list.

The Scholarly Resources section contains my selected list of Shakespeare on the Internet and the essay from which the list was derived. There are pages for the previous SHAKSPER Roundtable discussions and SHAKSPER Book Reviews. There are also pages for Papers for Comment, the Library of Essays, and Reference files. As my time permits, I will be completing the sections on Cook’s Tour and Pedagogical Tools. Under Cook’s Tours I will include the tour of BL/Folger collections and Book of Common Prayer. The next tour I plan will be thorough introductions to the resources of the Shakespeare Internet Editions.

You will find the archive is organized differently with new IP addresses for all the files. Current Posting is a Blog style listing of digests beginning with the most recent digest. There is also a section for Announcements. When I send out a digest that contains information announcing a conference or call for papers, I will also have that announcement visible in Announcements.

I will try to get some of the more time-sensitive e-mails I have received out today; unfortunately, I have a personal matter to take care of and will return to editing as I am able. Until then, as before, you may send me prospective postings at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

My gratitude and appreciation to everyone,
Hardy M. Cook
