Subject:      Some Administrative Matters

Dear SHAKSPER Subscribers:

I have a few administrative items to share and then information about impending interruptions in your receiving SHAKSPER digests.

1. Please be aware that any relevant announcements you post to SHAKSPER appear in three places: as part of regular SHAKSPER digests in an e-mail sent to you, as an entry in the Announcements section of the SHAKSPER web page {http://shaksper.net/announcements}, and as an archived message on the web site {http://shaksper.net/current-postings}. These options ensure that your announcement will reach a large audience. If you wish, you may also subscribe with a RSS feed to the announcements and receive a copy of each announcement when it is mounted: http://feeds.feedburner.com/ShaksperAnnouncements

2. When sending me a posting for distribution to the conference members, please dont simply reply; instead either edit the portion of the digest that you are responding to or delete that digest completely, doing so will help me save time in editing and preparing the digests.

3. In general, the new SHAKSPER platform enables me to include a variety of things I could not before with the Listserv software: attachments, pictures, and the like. Also, as you probably have noticed the new platform lets me include a number of formatting options that were not present in the ASCII-only digests: italics and bold emphasis. Again, to save me time, I would appreciate your pre-formatting your postings as much as possible having book and play titles in italics, for example.

4. Please feel free to contact me at anytime at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to share any observations or suggestions about the web sites or the digests. I have incorporated many of the suggestions I have received.

I have not been able to distribute digests as regularly as I would have like for the past two weeks because the healing from a recent surgery has been more difficult than I had anticipated.

Also, I will be away from my computer October 3 and 4 and then again between October 7 and 14. I will strive to catch-up with submissions as soon as I can after each interruption.
