Well, the “Methuen drama/A&C Black Ltd” branding didn’t last long! The latest Arden3 edition is Peter Holland’s Coriolanus, and it has the Bloomsbury ‘archer’ logo and the word “Bloomsbury” prominently on the cover (neither appears on the title page, incidentally.) Whether this is a symptom of yet another management upheaval is anyone’s guess. It is probably a good time to take stock of the progress of the Arden Third Series: by my calculation (and my calculations are apt to be thrown off by nonsenses such as Double Falsehood and Sir Thomas More) there are eight titles left - All’s Well That Ends Well, The Comedy of Errors, Cymbeline, King Henry IV, Pt 2, King John, Macbeth, Measure for Measure, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Of these, Macbeth, King John, and The Comedy of Errors are all currently scheduled for publication in 2014 (don’t hold your breath!) and A Midsummer Night’s Dream will probably never appear at all. With any luck, 2017 will see the series as complete as it is ever likely to be (after all, the Arden2 volume on the Sonnets didn’t appear either!)
