Subject:     Volunteer: “A Selected Guide to Shakespeare on the Internet” Revision

Dear Subscribers,

Having recently had a birthday, I have, despite my feeling better than I have in 10 or 15 years, come to realize that I can no longer do EVERYTHING, as much as I might try to think otherwise.

In less than six months, we will be entering SHAKSPER’s 25^th year, yes, 25^th year. I have been with it since its inception; however, not it as its owner/editor/moderator until during the second year of its existence. 

I am not ready to “pass it off” or “turn it off”, but the new web site highlights the many useful tools that have been added over the years and some of them are in need of revision or reanimation. 

Today, I am not going to address the items that might be reanimated or all the resources that might be revised or update. But I will turn to one that is close to my heart and as good as anyplace for me to start practicing collaboration and-or delegation: “A Selected Guide to Shakespeare on the Internet”: http://shaksper.net/scholarly-resources/shakespeare-on-the-internet .  

This list grew out of an essay I wrote for Sh@kespeare in the Media: From the Globe Theatre to the World Wide Web. (Eds. Stefani Brusberg-Kiermeier and Jörg Helbig. Berlin; Bern; Bruxelles; New York; Oxford; Wien: Peter Lang, 2004. 213-241). I revised the list and rewrote, updated, and expanded the essay for a second edition of the collection, which never materialized. Since I have one long-standing scholarly obligation that I would like to finish someday and since I have developed other interests that are also rewarding and satisfying to me, I am inquiring if there is anyone who might like to work with me in revising this list of Internet Shakespeare sites?
