Subject:     SHAKSPER: Sex and Gender in Shakespeare’s England

A glance at the blog in question reveals it to be depressingly uninsightful with regard to boy actors – and probably also for both sex and gender. (The author’s Latin is none too hot either: it should be “curriculum vitae”.)

A much better understanding can be found in Juliet Dusinberre’s essay

“Boys Becoming Women in Shakespeare’s Plays”, and also in the Introduction to her Arden3 edition of “As You Like It”.
